Trail description:

The Cedar Valley Lakes Trail Network is an intricate recreational system uniting the park and recreation facilities of metropolitan Black Hawk County, Cedar Falls, Waterloo, Evansdale and Hudson. The Cedar Valley Lakes Project involved building a series of lakes and incorporating the trails into each lake recreational area.

The Cedar Valley Lakes Trail winds through Cedar Falls, Waterloo and Evandale. It also connects several recreation areas, including George Wyth State Park, Cedar Bend Park, Black Hawk Park, Prairie Lakes Park, Hartman Reserve Nature Center and Katoski Greenbelt.

As the map shows, parts of this trail system are already connected to the 52-mile Cedar Valley Nature Trail. Most of this trail is asphalt or concrete. A few urban pieces are located on wide sidewalks.

NOTE: This trail system’s complexity and urban location make it unusually difficult to portray in this guidebook. For a larger map that shows more detail, all trailheads, cross-streets and other information, please contact any of the Trail or Tourism Information sources listed below.
