Magazine becomes more eco-friendly

Iowa Natural Heritage is a quarterly publication of the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation.

Starting in 2008, INHF began printing this magazine (and our upcoming calendar) on paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

Though most paper (including this) contains some recycled materials, FSC-certification ensures that any additional timber harvesting is done legally and sustainably.

According to the Forest Stewardship Council, the goal is to “shift the market to eliminate habitat destruction, water pollution, displacement of indigenous peoples and violence against people and wildlife that often accompanies logging.”

Though this change slightly increases our production costs, we think choosing FSC-certified paper is another important way to “walk the walk.”
