Chichaqua Valley Trail, a previous INHF project, affords beautiful views all year round.

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of the first three INHF projects along the scenic Upper Iowa River:  Chimney Rock, Canoe Creek/Upper Iowa River Access and the Upper Iowa River Palisades. Since that big start in 1987, INHF has helped protect 22 additional sites within this river corridor. The conservation boards in Jasper and Polk counties, co-owners of the Chichaqua Valley Trail, are planning a 20th anniversary trail bash on May 19. Tentative activities include a biking event, bird hike, geocaching, bike safety and more. INHF helped with trail acquisition and fundraising.
