Meet Amanda Mackey, INHF's Central Iowa Field Assistant
Posted on April 18, 2025 in Blog
INHF is pleased to have Amanda Mackey join the central Iowa stewardship crew to help boost restoration efforts throughout the growing season and into winter.
Amanda holds an M.S. in Biology from University of Nebraska-Kearney and a B.S. in Forestry and Animal Ecology from Iowa State University. Having previously interned with INHF in 2019, Amanda is looking forward to once again assisting with land stewardship activities ranging from invasive species removal to prescribed fire, and helping to cultivate future conservationists by assisting with intern supervision this summer.
“The last four years I have worked with aquatic vegetation management, so I am looking forward to being back on the land,” Amanda muses. “This position brings back all the happy memories from my summer as an intern, and I’m excited to be back doing work that makes me feel like I’m making a lasting impact on our natural resources and wildlands.”
While Amanda will spend the bulk of her time at INHF tending to those wildlands and enjoying nature’s splendor — including her favorite native plant, prairie phlox — you might also find her at upcoming INHF events. Join us in wishing her a warm welcome back!
