Paint the Park with Chad Elliott: A Music & Art Benefit for Brenton Slough

Chad Ellliott

Join Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation as we welcome award-winning artist and musician Chad Elliott to create a plein-air painting of Brenton Slough and perform a nature-inspired concert at the vast wetland and woodland nature area near Grimes.

Chad will pick a site and "Paint the Park" early in the day. Then from 5:30-6:30 p.m., he will perform a collection of his signature roots, blues and folk music as the sun sets at Brenton Slough. The property will be open to the public for the concert 5-7 p.m.

Admission: There is no admission fee, but all donations will go toward the protection of Brenton Slough. All ages welcome.

Suggested donation: $25 per person

About Brenton Slough: A 1,114-acre wetland and woodland complex between Grimes and Granger in central Iowa and a well-known haven for migratory birds and other wildlife. INHF recently purchased the site and is now raising funds to transfer the property to Polk County Conservation and open it to the public. Access to the property is only available during events like these for now. For more information about this property and to learn how you can help protect it, visit inhf.org/Brenton-Slough

EXCITING ADDITION: The Side Garage will be at the concert selling merchandise from their new collection, the Iowa Parks Project. 5% of sales from the Iowa Parks Project go to INHF to help in our mission to protect Iowa's wild places — like Brenton Slough!
