Enjoy a casual, easy-going hike at Snyder Heritage Farm while you see the prairie, woodland and oak savanna in their full autumn glory.
INHF Central Iowa Land Stewardship Director Ryan Schmidt will lead a guided hike through the property, share the Snyder story, point out native plants and animals, and provide insight into past, current and planned restoration.

ABOUT SNYDER HERITAGE FARM
For over 30 years, Snyder Heritage Farm has been slowly transitioning from a traditional farm back to a blend of prairie, oak savanna, woodland and wetland ecosystems. It is now a 154-acre natural area just north of the Des Moines metro. Snyder Heritage Farm is stewarded by Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation.

- Insect repellant and water bottle
- A hiking stick, binoculars, field guide and/or camera, if you like
