Indian Paintbrush Hike (Wayne and Appanoose Counties)

Join our friends at Iowa Prairie Network for a spring hike to search for Indian paintbrush in bloom, along with other oak savanna species. This free event will happen rain or shine and participants should come prepared to hike on uneven terrain. 

After hiking in Wayne County, participants can head to an INHF owned site in Appanoose County for additional opportunities to view Indian paintbrush.

Event sponsors include INHF and Iowa Prairie Network. 

Location and directions: 

Brant Schmell’s Farm  - 12220 580th St. Numa  Iowa
Southeast of Seymour, Iowa. Parking is available in the farm yard or along road.
